Our Committee Members

Members of the Circle come from a wide range of experiences and a variety of backgrounds.

From beginners to well-published and established authors we meet together to encourage and support one another in a helpful and friendly atmosphere.

Come along as a guest and be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.


Meetings are held monthly in the Bardswell Social Club, Bardeswell Close, off Weald Road, Brentwood CM14 4TJ

Meetings are from 2.30 - 4.30 with the exception of our Writers' Day (see below) and are generally on the first Saturday of each month.

Colin Dexter, creator of Inspector Morse stories and television series.

Paul C. Doherty OBE is an award-winning English author, educator, lecturer and historian.

Peter Jones is the author of 'two and a half'  popular self-help books on the subjects of happiness, dieting and online dating.

Elizabeth Lord writes mostly family sagas, set in the East End of London where she was born. She began her writing career with short stories published in various magazines during the 1970s.

Jean Fullerton loves London and the East End, which is why she writes stories set in the 18th and 19th century to bring that vibrant area of London alive.

Petra is a published writer with 20 years experience.

Writers' Day is a ticket-only event from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Ticket price includes morning and afternoon tea, and a buffet lunch.

Prices: Visitors £20 or £15 for concessions.
