Helen Finch, Chairman, conducted the meeting this month, which focused on ways to begin and develop story lines. We divided into groups and were encouraged to choose from a selection of images, headings or single sentences cut from magazines for inspiration. Each table was soon busy deciding on characters and plots, after which individuals or couples wrote an opening paragraph and synopsis. After the break each group read out their examples. Most people used images as their starting point and it was interesting how, in a fairly short time and in collaboration with others, some very promising opening lines were compiled. Perhaps some of them will be developed further after the meeting.

As Ivy wasn't able to take up her usual place selling raffle tickets we were very grateful to Luke, Helen's son, who helped out with a cheerful smile. Thank you Luke.
